Students continued working in groups on a study guide for The Handmaid's Tale.

Students worked in study groups preparing notes for The Handmaid's Tale. The focus has been on the satirical purpose of their examples.

Today the students worked on a few sample multiple choice sections. Students are to analyze their incorrect responses and look for patterns.

Today we examined an open-response prompt. Students were asked to brainstorm novels/plays they could use in response to the prompt. Discussion followed.

Students were given time to rewrite their first essays after a brief discussion on syntax.

Diction/Tone

Today we covered diction and tone again. I have added the presentation I used to the right side of this blog. We then looked at syntax and began analyzing the passages from the packet the students received last week.
