What grade do you deserve? Give yourself a score out of 20 and explain why you feel you’ve earned it. Your grade will be added to the grade I give you. Be honest!
I deserve 20 out of the possible 20 points credited for summer homework. I thoroughly read the works, well before the school year began, and made the first post very early. I regularly checked nicenet keeping up to date on everyone’s opinions and questions. Not only was I responsible for reading the two novels for AP Lit, but I was responsible for Honors History work; I made time between traveling to read these books in depth. I traveled to a police exposition in Atlantic City, a Technology Students of America (TSA) competition in Orlando, Florida, and attended a National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I bought my own copies of the books so I could highlight and take notes as I read. I came prepared for discussion the first day of class. I was enthusiastic to share my opinion and I related the books to everyday life.- Sarahd Pr.3
I feel that I deserve the full 20 points. I think that I contributed what was necessary on nicenet to receive full credit. I made an effort to respond on line to whatever I felt strongly about or what others may not have mentioned. I wrote a response on both books and I feel that deserves the 20 points. In my opinion 5 responses should be enough to get full credit. My responses show that I understood the books that were given and I began analyzing them. It definitely shows I read the books and did what the summer homework required.
Stating that the summer homework assignment is to post my oppinions on Nicenet and to read both "Farenhieght 451" and "How to read liturature like a professor" i would say i earned a 15 out of 20 points. Wile I did post messages on nicenet early, they were skin deep observations and rather short in comparison to say Hope's or David's. I also failed to fully complete "how to read liturature like a professor" as I skimed much of its contents to gain the knowlege without pesky things such as comprehension and consumption of time. Still, though on the first day of school i had full knowlege of everything we talked about and i contribute to the classes discusions
Though I want the full 20 out of 20 points on the summer homework and I would very much appreciate it, since you insisted on honesty, I believe I deserve 17 out of the 20 points. I made sure I had time to read the two novels and I read them thoroughly. I took notes on "How To Read Literature Like A Professor" so that I learned from each individual chapter. I made connections to "Fahrenheit 451" from what I did learn. My downfall on the summer assignment was that I only left one comment on nicenet. I believe it was a worth while observation, but I do admit I should have left more comments. All in all, I did read both the novels and I did participate on nicenet, so I believe that 17 out of 20 is a legitimate score for my summer homework.
